I have worked in care for 40 years, working in both care homes and in the community.

During this time, I have been a care manager at a nursing home for 6 years. I then moved to a care manager of a domiciliary care agency for 3 years.

I covered emergency response end-of-life care for a local care agency for approximately 5 years before joining Bayliss and Wilcox community support 12 years ago, supporting clients with learning disabilities in their own homes.

I have NVQ 2, 3 & 5. During my employment with Bayliss and Wilcox, I have moved up to frontline care manager and am currently waiting for registration as a registered manager for the company

I have worked in the care industry for 35 years, including 10 years at Bayliss and Wilcox, supporting adults with learning disabilities. I have been promoted to senior support worker since joining the team and achieved my NVQ 3. I hope to continue making a difference in people's lives.

I have worked within the Social Care sector for 15 years. During that time, I have covered various sectors, including domiciliary care. I joined Bayliss & Wilcox in November 2015 as a support worker. I have moved up in the company to Deputy Care Manager and have completed my NVQ levels 2, 3, and 5. Bayliss & Wilcox funded my level 5 to enable me to take on the role of Deputy Care Manager. My job role is very rewarding and at times challenging, but I am always striving to better myself and learn new skills along the way. 

My journey into care began personally when managing my daughter’s complex physical and mental health needs. Navigating her medical requirements and collaborating with healthcare professionals sparked a strong desire to transition into the field myself, driven by a commitment to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Prior to this, I spent several years developing strong interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills, progressing to management level. I successfully leveraged this experience when a professional referral led to an opportunity with Bayliss and Wilcox. Since joining the team, I have proactively advanced my expertise through independent research and completed NVQ qualifications. Dedicated to continuous professional development, I actively pursue advanced training to deliver the highest standard of support to service users while professionally representing the company.

I previously dedicated four years to supporting individuals with learning difficulties at Bayliss and Wilcox, a role in which I developed a deep understanding of person-centred care and person-specific support strategies. Following a brief, planned career break to manage my daughter’s complex health and medical needs, I have recently rejoined the organisation to resume my professional responsibilities.

To ensure a seamless transition back into the team and maintain strict regulatory compliance, I have proactively completed all mandatory training required by the company. I am fully equipped and committed to delivering the highest standards of care, fostering independence for our clients, and contributing positively to the company's reputation and operational goals.

I began my career in the health and social care sector in 2013, initially focusing on domiciliary care within the community. During this foundational period, I completed all mandatory training, specialised in dementia care, and successfully attained my NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

In 2020, I transitioned into specialised care for individuals with learning disabilities by joining Bayliss and Wilcox as a Personal Assistant for adults. Over the past several years, I have actively embraced opportunities for professional development, successfully securing my NVQ Level 3. Additionally, I have expanded my clinical and behavioural expertise through targeted training in epilepsy management, moving and handling, positive behavioural support (adverse behaviours), and mental health awareness.

Moving forward, I am eager to pursue further advanced training to continually broaden my expertise, enhance my practice, and deliver the highest standard of support within my role.

Having been an integral part of the team at Bayliss and Wilcox for the past three years, I remain deeply passionate about my role and the high standard of support we provide. I am currently focused on achieving my NVQ qualification to further solidify my practical expertise and ensure compliance with industry best practices. Looking to the future, I am highly motivated to pursue ongoing professional development opportunities, continuously expanding my skillset and advancing my career within the organisation over the coming years.

Over the past six years with Bayliss and Wilcox, I have established a strong foundation in the care and education sector, driven by a commitment to delivering high-quality support. During my tenure, I have attained significant professional milestones, including an NVQ Level 3 and a Level 3 SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) qualification specialising in child development and support.

Equipped with this dual expertise in both general care and specialised education, I am eager to continue expanding my clinical and supervisory knowledge. Moving forward, I am highly motivated to pursue advanced development opportunities that will allow me to take on greater responsibilities and further advance my career within the organisation.

My entry into the care sector was driven by an innate caring nature, further catalysed by navigating my own health challenges. This personal experience inspired me to formally study the field, leading to my first major professional milestone: achieving an NVQ Level 3 in Mental Health. Following this, I dedicated my time to volunteering as a group leader for individuals facing mental health challenges, before transitioning to a community café role. There, I regularly engaged with service users and their support networks, building strong community rapport.

Recognising my dedication and interpersonal skills, I was approached by the owner of Bayliss and Wilcox with an invitation to join the organisation. Since joining the team, I have further advanced my credentials by securing a second NVQ Level 3, specialising in Health and Social Care.

I find my current role exceptionally rewarding. The ability to directly impact an individual's well-being and witness their daily progress provides a profound sense of job satisfaction. I am proud to deliver support that makes a measurable, meaningful difference to those we serve.
